Yoga Nidra
What is Yoga Nidra?
This description from my training with Tracee Stanley and Dr. Chanti Tacoronte - Perez feels resonant to me and my experience of this practice.
“Yoga Nidra is a technique, a Goddess, and a state of consciousness described as peace beyond words, where there is no thought.”
A space where there is no thought…sounds pretty amazing, right? Ultimately, Yoga Nidra offers us the opportunity to practice letting go. To loosen our grip, literally and metaphorically. So many of us live in chronic states of tension and anxiety - and for very valid reasons.
What might it be like to offer yourself an hour to soften, to be completely present with what is, and to allow yourself to be held by props, Goddess Yoga Nidra, sound bowls, and by my presence and awareness.
What To Anticipate
Space for grounding together, checking in on how you are feeling as you arrive to the space, and time to ask questions
Finding the best position for your body (on your back, on your side, on your belly) and setting up your nest, with guidance from me
Identifying and speaking aloud your San Kalpa (heart’s desire)
Body scan, guided by my voice and sound bowls
Earth Nidra practice, guided by my voice and sound bowls
Guidance back to your body and the space, guided by my voice
Time to doodle, journal, remain resting, tending to your needs
Space to share about your experience with Alex (optional)
Closing the time and space together
Every practice of Yoga Nidra offers you something new to notice and learn about yourself, your inner world, and the subtle world that surrounds you. In a more physical sense, this is also a space for your body to receive exquisite care and attention.
