You are cordially invited to Femme Field Day
A day for femmes to feel free, to play, and to connect in Carrboro, NC
August 28, 2026
A day of celebration, joy, and community for the femmes.
Who do we mean when we say femmes?
An LGBTQ+ person who intentionally identifies with femininity, and/or expresses themself in a feminine way. Allies are welcome too!
This gathering is for anyone who is joyfully and intentionally exploring and embodying their femininity in a way that challenges, subverts, and liberates them from patriarchal, heteronormative, and colonial standards and expectations.
Femme is an expansive term, not necessarily tied to sexuality or gender. Our intention is to create space for the expansiveness of, and diversity within, this identity.
We want to acknowledge, and express our gratitude to, the queer (specifically lesbian) working class spaces, and the queer spaces led by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (i.e. Asian, Latine, non-white Hispanic, Pacific Islander, etc.), who brought this term into our lexicon.
We want to honor, and give thanks to, all of our queer trancestors, ancestors, and elders who courageously fought (and continue to fight) for us to be able to celebrate our queer identities proudly and publicly.
If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to be a part of the space, or feedback around areas of growth for this dream of a space for femmes, please email Alex at softandsanguine@gmail.com.
The gathering will be held on 10-acre wooded space in Carrboro, NC that has an on-site pool.
The General Schedule
We will be together from 1PM to 8:30PM on August 28, 2026 - in alignment with the energy of the Pisces Full Moon!
Here is the vision for how we will move through the day together:
Introductions and getting to know one another, followed by the creation of a group altar, and some gentle yoga
Break with snacks and group meeting with Rosie, who will help orient everyone to the photographs that will be taken throughout the day
Choose your own adventure: pool time, hiking nearby trails, lounging/relaxing/reading by the pool or under the trees, etc.
Dinner
Meditation with Rosie and sound bath with Alex to ground, before the group spell and group photos
Closing celebration!
Your Guides
Alex is a queer, nonbinary conduit for the Divine inside of us and around us.
Spiritual practices they love sharing and experiencing with others include yoga asana, yoga nidra, sound medicine, mediumship, and tarot. Alex feels each practice as a form of art, and as portals to the spiritual world.
They are a true Leo in that they are warm, heart-centered, love fiercely, and feel moved to imbue any space they offer with play and creative expression.
Alexās heartās desire is for folks to walk away from any offering from Alex, with a sense of being in more loving and intimate connection with themself, and with a more open path to their sense of the Divine.
Rosie is a queer, nonbinary photographer.
Creative connection is deeply meaningful to them, and photography has been a tremendously healing artistic space for them.
As someone who lives with chronic pain, is in recovery from an eating disorder, and continues to explore and embody their gender and sexuality, theyāve learned how to honor their life, body, spirit, and community through art.
Today, their photographic practice is dedicated to celebrating and uplifting their amazing clients. This work is one facet of their efforts to participate in changing the world for a more just future.
